For our next Appreciation Event, I am pleased to offer you the chance to hear from Melissa Stockwell, Purple Heart veteran and Paralympic athlete. She gives an inspiring talk on pursuing one's aspiration and dreams despite major obstacles.

Melissa was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in the United States Army's transportation corps and became the first female American Soldier in history to lose a limb in active combat. Against all odds four years later she qualified for the 2008 Paralympic Games in Beijing,  In 2018, she competed with the U.S. Paratrialon National Team in Rio, where she earned a bronze medal.
